༄ Nailstorming : "Mardi Gras"

Aujourd'hui on se retrouve pour un double rendez-vous : le traditionnel Nailstorming dominical qui cette semaine a pour thème "Mardi Gras". Mais aussi pour le RDV des NPA qui ce mois-ci est un Twinnails dont le thème est Carnaval // Watermarble.

Hi girls,
Today we meet for a double date: the traditional Sunday Nailstorming which theme is "Mardi Gras". But also for the NPAs Rendez-Vous which this month is a Twinnails whose theme is Carnival // Watermarble.

Le carnaval ne m'inspire pas des masses, je me suis dit que je n'aurai pas envie de faire deux nail arts distincts pour l'occasion. C'est pourquoi j'ai décidé de faire d'une pierre deux coups avec ce nail art !

Carnival does not inspire me much, I thought I wouldn't want to do two distinct nail arts for the occasion. That's why I decided to make two strokes with this nail art!

Pour le RDV des NPA, nous devions nous inspirer d'un nail art et le réaliser en binôme. J'ai réalisé ce nail art avec ma copine Boulilulu qui doit être l'une des premières NPA que j'ai rencontrée, il y a un moment maintenant !

For the NPAs Rendez-Vous, we had to be inspired by a nail art and realize it in pairs. I realized this nail art with my friend Boulilulu who must be one of the first NPAs I met, a while ago now!

Après avoir écumé le net à la recherche de watermarble qui faisaient Carnaval, nous nous sommes mises d'accord pour reproduire un nail art de Melyne Nail Art que tu peux revoir ici. Comme nous sommes désormais voisines (mais vraiment collées !), nous nous sommes organisé une session NPA vendredi après-midi dernier, pour pouvoir réaliser le nail art ensemble.

After scouring the net in search of a Carnival look watermarble, we agreed to reproduce a nail art from Melyne Nail Art that you can see here. Since we are now neighbors (really close ones!), we organized a NPA session last Friday afternoon, to be able to realize the nail art together.

Si tu te demandes pourquoi le bleu est devenu vert, c'est parce que je n'aime pas poser du blanc en base. Et évidemment, je n'avais pas pensé que bleu + jaune = vert ! En base, j'ai posé "Light Of Day" de Pipe Dream Polish, puis j'ai nail arté avec le bleu "All In", et le magenta "V.I.P. Pass".

If you wonder why the blue has become green, it's because I do not like to put a white base. And of course, I didn't think that blue + yellow = green! As a base, I laid "Light Of Day" from Pipe Dream Polish, then I nail arted with the blue "All In", and the magenta "V.I.P. Pass".

Ça ne rend pas aussi bien que ce que j'aurai souhaité, mais j'aime quand même le résultat ! Ci-dessous tu peux voir différentes étapes de notre session watermarble et nos deux nail arts côte à côte ! J'espère que ça te plaît. Bisous ♥

This year, I didn't have too much time to nail art for Christmas. Usually, I like to make lots of nail arts for the holidays, as you can see by clicking on this link.

Depuis que je suis rentrée d'Inde c'est un peu la folie, donc il n'y en aura pas autant cette année. Noël étant dimanche, j'ai tout de même décidé de te montrer ce nail art dans un premier temps.

Since I came back from India it's a bit crazy, so there will not be as much this year. Christmas being on Sunday, I still decided to show you this nail art at first.

Il s'agit d'un nail art très simple à réaliser mais qui est aussi très classe et qui fera facilement sont petit effet auprès des convives autour de la table de Noël !

This is a very simple nail art to realize but which is also very classy and that will easily make its effect with the guests around the Christmas table!

Pour réaliser ce nail art, j'ai utilisé deux vernis de la marque indie française et vegan "Il était un vernis" : le magenta holographique "Beyond Words", et le doré pailleté "Live, Love, Laugh", tous deux issus de la collection "Once Upon A Time". Tu peux les trouver directement sur le site de la marque par ici.

To realize this nail art, I used two nail lacquers from the French indie and vegan brand "Il était un vernis": the holographic magenta "Beyond Words", and the sparkling gold "Live, Love, Laugh", both coming from The "Once Upon A Time" collection. You can find them directly on the brand's website here.

Ce sont deux très jolis vernis qui sont idéaux en cette période de fêtes que ce soit posés seuls ou bien en nail art comme ici. Si tu n'as pas ces deux vernis, tu peux utiliser n'importe quels vernis, je te conseille simplement d'utiliser un vernis crème ou holographique en base, et un vernis pailleté.

These are two very nice nail varnishes which are ideal in this period of celebrations whether posed alone or for a nail art as here. If you do not have these two nail polishes, you can use any nail lacquer, I advise you simply to use a cream or holographic nail varnish as a base, and a glittery one.

J'ai tout d'abord posé "Beyond Words" en trois couches pour qu'il soit bien opaque. j'ai ensuite utilisé du scotch blanc que j'ai posé sur chaque ongle en diagonale. Je te conseille de coller et décoller les morceaux de scotch sur ta peau au préalable pour éviter les traces de colle.

I first laid "Beyond Words" in three layers so that it is really opaque. I then used white tape that I placed on each nail diagonally. I advise you to stick and peel the scotch pieces on your skin beforehand to avoid traces of glue.

Ensuite sur la partie découverte, j'ai appliqué "Live, Love, Laugh" à l'éponge afin de ne pas avoir une trop grosse épaisseur de vernis. Puis j'ai simplement posé une bande de striping tape doré pour délimiter les deux surfaces. Enfin une couche de top coat pour fixer le tout, et voilà !

Then on the uncovered part, I applied "Live, Love, Laugh" with a sponge so we won't have a too thick layer of nail varnish. Then I simply laid a stripe of gold striping tape to delimit the two surfaces. Finally a layer of top coat to fix everything, and voila!

🍷 Color to Diner For by O.P.I.

Toujours dans l'esprit de Noël, j'ai décidé de te montrer aujourd'hui un joli vernis de la marque O.P.I. : "Color To Diner For".

Still in the spirit of Christmas, I decided to show you today a nice nail polish from the brand O.P.I. : "Color To Diner For".

Il s'agit d'un jelly rouge au shimmer magenta. Il est opaque en trois couches, et son shimmer est bien prononcé et visible une fois le vernis posé, ce qui lui donne des reflets magenta.

It is a red jelly with a magenta shimmer. It is opaque in three layers, and its shimmer is well pronounced and visible once the nail lacquer laid, which gives it magenta hues.

J'ai eu la chance de gagner ce vernis chez ma copine blogueuse Pmabelle. Pour être honnête je ne suis pas une fana de rouge et au début, je n'étais pas emballée, emballée.

I had the chance to win this nail varnish at my blogger friend's Pmabelle. To be honest I'm not a red fan and at first I was not really pumped about it.

Mais bon je n'allais pas faire ma difficile quand même !! Je l'ai ignoré pendant un long moment car je porte très peu de rouge, et puis finalement je me suis lancée !

But I was not going to complain anyway !! I ignored it for a long time because I wear very little red, and then finally I gave it a go!

Et bien je peux te dire que je suis très contente d'avoir gagné ce vernis ! Je l'aime beaucoup ce petit rouge, je le trouve très classe, j'aime beaucoup son shimmer et je le trouve très facile à porter.

Well I can tell you that I am very glad to have won this nail polish! I like this pretty little red, I find it very classy, I like its shimmer and I find it very easy to wear.

Aujourd'hui, c'est au tour du très beau "Vanellope Von Schweetz", un rose // rouge // magenta holographique qui a un joli shimmer fuchsia.

Today, we are starting the second half of the collection with the gorgeous "Vanellope Von Schweetz", a pink // red // magenta which has a nice fuchsia shimmer.

Il est opaque en deux à trois fines couches. Il doit son nom à un personnage du dessin animé "Les Mondes de Ralph", je ne l'ai pas encore vu mais ça ne saurait tarder !

It is opaque in two to three thin coats. It is named after a character from the cartoon "Wreck-It Ralph", I have not seen it yet but I will soon!

N'aimant pas trop le rouge, c'est un vernis que je n'aurai probablement pas commandé pour moi, mais j'ai été bluffée par ce petit ! C'est un de mes trois préférés de la collection, il est vraiment très très joli !!

As I am not a big fan of red, it's a nail polish that I would probably not have ordered for myself, but I was blown away by this little one! This is one of my three favorites of the collection, it is really very very nice !!

Cette collection est composée de 6 vernis tous dédiés à des princesses ou des fées, elle est idéale pour l'été et j'ai hâte d'arborer ces couleurs vives lorsqu'il fera enfin beau.

This collection has 6 nail polishes all dedicated to princesses or fairies, it's ideal for summer and I cannot wait to wear those bright colors when at last it will be sunny.

✿ Petal d'Enchanted Polish

A part les monthlies, cela fait un petit moment que je ne t'avais pas montré de vernis de la marque au château. Aujourd’hui, j'ai décidé d'opter pour un crème avec le jolis vernis "Petal" d'Enchanted Polish.

Besides the monthlies, it's been a while since I've not shown you a nail polish from the castle brand. Today, I decided to choose a cream with the beautiful nail lacquer "Petal" from Enchanted Polish. 

Il existe maintenant une quinzaine de vernis crèmes créés par Enchanted Polish. Je me suis arrêtée aux 10 premiers, et c'est déjà pas mal !

There are now about fifteen crèmes nail varnishes created by Enchanted Polish. I stopped after the first 10, and that's already a lot ! 
 

Celui-ci fait partie de la deuxième série avec "Malibu" un très beau bleu, et "Regal", un intense violet. Je t'ai déjà montré "Regal" par ici, si jamais tu veux voir à quoi il ressemble.

This one belongs to the second set along with "Malibu" a beautiful blue, and "Regal", an intense purple. I already showed you "Regal" over here if you ever want to see how it looks. 

"Petal" est un joli rose assez vif, il est presque magenta. Je trouve qu'il porte bien son nom, il me fait penser aux pétales d'un géranium.

"Petal" is a pretty fairly bright pink, it is almost magenta. I think it is aptly named, it reminds me of the petals of a geranium.

"Petal" est opaque en deux à trois couches. J'avais peur qu'il soit assez épais, étant donné que les vernis Enchanted Polish sont désormais beaucoup plus épais qu'avant. Mais non, il s'applique plutôt facilement.


"Petal" is opaque in two to three layers. I was afraid that it would be rather thick, since the Enchanted Polish nail lacquers are now much thicker than they used to be. But no it applies rather easily.

"Regal" est de loin mon préféré de ce set, car je le trouve vraiment original. Cela dit, ces trois couleurs se marient parfaitement je trouve et sont tout à fait coordonnées.

"Regal" is by far my favorite of this set because I find it really original. That said, these three colors blend perfectly together and I think they are totally coordinated. 
 

"Petal" est joli aussi, mais je le trouve vraiment terne. Et puis ça reste un vernis crème, il n'a rien d'exceptionnel à mon humble avis.

"Petal" is also lovely, but I find it really dull. And it's still a crème nail polish, it has nothing exceptional in my humble opinion.
 

Et bien que j'apprécie la marque, cela m'embête de dépenser 16€ pour un simple vernis crème. Même s'il est de très bonne qualité, je pense qu'un Kiko ou un essie fera très bien le job !!

And while I appreciate the brand, it bothers me to spend $16 for a simple crème nail lacquer. While it is very good quality, I think that Kiko or essie will do fine job !!

Si tu as raté ce vernis, ne t'inquiètes pas, il devrait ressortir sur le Big Cartel, ou bien chez un revendeur (liste par ici), par contre on ne sait pas quand !

If you missed this varnish, do not worry, it should come out again on the Big Cartel, or from a stockist (list rigth here), but I can't tell you when.

✄ Nailstorming : Fashion Show

Comme tous les dimanches, voici venu le jour du Nailstorming, dont le thème est : "Fashion Show", à savoir "Défilé de Mode".

Like every Sunday, it is the day of the Nailstorming, whose theme is this week : "Fashion Show". 

Il fallait donc s'inspirer d'un vêtement ou accessoire créé par un grand couturier et en faire un nail art !! Ça à l'air hyper simple dit comme ça mais ce ne fût pas si évident.

We had to do a nail art inspired by a garment or an accessory created by a fashion designer !! It seems super easy told like that but it was not so obvious. 

Je ne sais pas si tu le sais mais j'ai déjà travaillé dans le milieu de la mode et j'ai fouiné dans mes photos de l'époque pour voir si je ne trouvais pas quelque chose qui m'inspirait.

I do not know if you know it but I've worked in the field of fashion and I looked up into my photos of that time to see if I could find something that would inspire me. 

Il y avait des choses plutôt sympa, notamment des créations de BASIL SODA qui faisait de sublimes robes tout comme son compatriote libanais ELIE SAAB dont j'adore toutes les créations.

There were things pretty cool, especially the creations of BASIL SODA who used to make sublimes gowns just like his Lebanese countryman ELIE SAAB whom I love all creations. 

J'hésitais aussi avec des motifs très colorés de CHRISTIAN LACROIX. Mais je n'étais pas emballée plus que ça... J'ai alors commencé à fouiner sur le net pour trouver quelque chose qui me transcende plus, je voulais un truc vraiment original et assez fun à reproduire en nail art.

I also hesitated with some colorful patterns from CHRISTIAN LACROIX. But I was not more excited than that... I started snooping around on the net to find something that would transcend me, I wanted something really original and fun enough to reproduce as a nail art. 

Je commençais à perdre espoir, lorque je suis tombée sur la sublime collection automne / hiver 2015 - 2016 de GIORGIO ARMANI. Sérieusement, cette collection est à tomber, avec de sublimes robes aux tons turquoises, bleus et magentas.

I was beginning to lose hope when I stumbled upon the gorgeous autumn / winter2015 - 2016 collection from GIORGIO ARMANI. Seriously, this collection is to die for with turquoise, blues and magentas gorgeous gowns.

J'ai donc choisi la robe de cette collection que tu peux voir tout en haut. En base, j'ai posé une couche de mon noir fétiche "Licorice" d'essie. Puis j'ai utilisé la technique "Antique Nails" pour les couleurs.

So I chose the dress from this collection that you can see above. As a base, I put a layer of my favorite black "Licorice" from essie. Then I used the "Antique Nails" technique to apply the colors. 

J'ai repris les couleurs de la robe avec des vernis de chez Kiko : "345 - Spring Green", "336 - Electric Blue", et "447 - Carmine Red". Puis, j'ai repassé à quelques endroits avec le noir. Et voilà !!

I picked the colors of the dress with Kiko nail lacquers : "345 - Spring Green", "336 - Electric Blue" and "447 - Carmine Red". Then I went back on some spots with the black. Et voilà !!
